Key questions every Event Emcee should be able to answer

Here’s some key questions that every event host should be able to answer without missing a beat. I’ve included my own answers in the drop down menus.  

Are you fully insured as an Event Emcee?

Yes, I have PLI cover of £2,000,000. I’m happy to provide an insurance certificate on request.

If you hire an Event Host who isn’t insured, then there may be a long and lengthy legal process to recoup any costs as a result.

What type of events have you hosted previously?

Award Ceremonies (adults & kids), Gala Dinners, Charity Auctions, Business Conferences, Product Launches, Store Openings, Christmas Parties, Fireworks Events, Marathons, Sport Days, Company Anniversary, Female Sexual Empowerment (Shallis) and a range of private events.

It’s important to check that your Event Host has hosted a range of different events, as it shows that your host has the ability to change and adapt their presentation style in any given situation.

What would you do if X happened? - The Curve Ball

Even with the best planning in the world, the unexpected can happen. Suppliers can get caught in traffic, a fire alarm could sound, the food the catering supplies could be off, there could be a power cut, a fight could break out between two guests and the list goes on. 

The question is what would your Event Host do in each of these situations? Don’t be afraid to chuck a curve ball question like this, after all you want to know that you’re in a safe pair of hands for the evening. 

After hosting over 700 events and running my own Event Management business I’ve seen it all and as such I’m well prepared to deal with any emergency that may arise. 

Do you have video testimonials I can see?

About Me

Aside from being an Event Emcee, I’m a comedy producer, father of two and small business entrepreneur who has built and sold 5 businesses in the past.

Previously I was a radio and TV presenter, who was regularly on the red carpet. In late 2023 I produced my first feature film  and plan to build on this in 2024 with my first web series.

When planning our wedding a toastmaster wasn't something I was fully sure we needed. However, upon research and coming across Kevin's website I knew he was absolutely what we needed! I had a few fears about the wedding but mostly 1) something major going wrong on the day and 2) people not being entertained enough . By booking Kevin I knew both would be covered and this was a huge relief for me. My Husband and I wanted quite a relaxed wedding which is another reason we opted for Kevin rather than a more formal ("stuffy") Toastmaster. His relaxed friendly style fitted in perfectly with our day. He also made sure we were fed and had a drink during drinks reception which was highly appreciated! During our pre-wedding meeting with Kevin we had originally said no to any games, however Kevin pushed us on this and we are so glad he did. During the wedding breakfast Kevin played Heads Up with each table separately, and the two tables who scored the highest went into a final battle in front of everyone. It was so lovely to sit at the top table watching it all going on and how much fun everyone was having (and how competitive people get!).
