My work in Nottingham has covered a business event at the De Vere Orchard Hotel, toastmaster duties at Goosedale in Papplewick, and a fundraising ball for the charity Alex’s Wish, held in Nottingham, which raised over £20,000 through a live and silent auction on the night.
A fundraising ball lives or dies on pacing: too slow and the room loses momentum before the ask, too fast and nobody has time to reach for their phone or their chequebook. My background in live television and comedy is exactly that instinct, built over twenty years of reading a room and knowing when to hold a moment and when to move it on.
